Seeking to placate upset fans who are contemplating litigation against them due to the
Super Bowl snafu involving temporary seating that wasn't up to code, the NFL has increased its offer to those displaced by the debacle. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Associated Press that the NFL has e-mailed the 400 fans affected by the situation to offer them $5,000 or reimbursement for documented expenses, and are willing to pay the higher of the two figures. The
league initially offered $2,400, three times the value of the
ticket, as well as
ticket to a future Super Bowl as well as
flight and hotel expenses.
