Photos of nuclear explosions. The creator of the atomic bomb J. Robert Oppenheimer on the day of the first test of his brainchild said: "If the sky at once went up hundreds of thousands of suns, their light can be compared with the radiance emanating from the Supreme Lord ... I'm - there is Death, the destroyer of worlds great bearing death all living things ". These words were a quote from the "Bhagavad Gita", which is an American physicist.
At the epicenter of the explosion the temperature rises to an incredibly high mark, the hot air rises rapidly, carrying the smoke and debris. Because of higher temperatures, the air rises faster in the center, thus acquires a mushroom-cloud shape.
To see a nuclear explosion is impossible for the same reason that you can not look at the sun. Instant flash of a nuclear explosion at a tiny fraction of a second flare is much brighter than the sun, which causes congestion of the optic nerves. This happens so instantly, that this time people do not have time to blink or eyes or turn away.
